Rebecca Colombo, PhD

Pronouns: she/her/hers

I am a postdoctoral fellow working toward becoming a licensed psychologist. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Studies and Human Development with a Minor in Adolescents, Community, and Education from the University of Arizona. Afterwards, I earned my Doctorate in School Psychology with a specialization in family partnerships from the University of Florida. I completed my internship at the University of Florida within the College of Medicine, Division of Psychology. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including public schools, developmental research schools, and academic medical centers.

I have been trained in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I am a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) certified therapist. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and related conditions, and disruptive behavior. I also have experience working with individuals with depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and emotion dysregulation. Outside of therapy services, I am also trained in conducting psychoeducational and psychological assessments to evaluate for conditions such as ADHD, learning differences, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and other psychological conditions.

My goals within therapy include building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients and their families, creating a space where everyone feels safe, welcomed, and heard, and providing clients with relevant tools and skills. I am a member of the American Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists, and the International OCD Foundation. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cat and my friends, biking with my partner, and finding new hiking/walking trails.
