Allison “Paige” Blankenship, PhD

Pronouns: she/her/hers

I am a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I earned a Doctorate in Combined Counseling Psychology and School Psychology from Florida State University after attending University of Florida for my Bachelor’s Degree. I have over ten years of experience working in a variety of settings including private practices, clinics, schools, hospitals, homes, and community centers.

I provide evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of needs including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, executive functioning difficulties, social skill challenges, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms. I offer Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), social skills training, and I also provide therapy services from both interpersonal and client-centered approaches. I additionally specialize in working with families whose children exhibit challenging and disruptive behaviors. I provide parenting sessions from both collaborative and coaching models, and I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Although I work with individuals presenting with a variety of different needs, I primarily specialize in providing trauma-informed care to those who have endured adverse experiences. I have completed trauma-focused fellowships at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and University of California – Davis to enhance my knowledge of trauma-informed assessment and treatment. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and trained in additional evidence-based trauma treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), PCIT for Traumatized Children, and various interventions to teach trauma-informed parenting and relationship strategies. I also provide trainings and guest lectures in the area of trauma and trauma-informed care.

In addition to therapy services, I am also experienced in conducting psychological evaluations of social-emotional functioning, trauma-related experiences and symptoms, executive functioning difficulties, learning disorders, and intellectual functioning. Additionally, I have experience providing evaluations to families involved with the foster care system, and those who are in the process of adoption.

I understand that there are a variety of factors that impact mental health, including family systems, cultural factors, and individual goals and values. As a clinician, I place a heavy emphasis on the relationships that I build with families so that I can find an approach that is not only evidence-based, but also one that fits each family’s needs and personal style. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children. I enjoy community outreach and providing trainings to parents, medical professionals, and other individuals that focus on building communication and relationship skills with children to ultimately promote resiliency and stable relationships. I previously served as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL), and I currently hold volunteer positions on the Pediatric Family Advisory Council for All Children’s Hospital and through a nonprofit organization for NICU mothers.

I’m a Florida native, but I spent a few years in beautiful Northern California. I have been fortunate to back home in Florida and live in the amazing city of St. Petersburg for the last few years. My family and I enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I spend my spare time with my husband, son, and two dogs. We enjoy doing DIY projects, baking and cooking, biking, and spending time outdoors!
