I am a bilingual, licensed, and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biochemistry from Cornell College and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I received my doctorate in Psychological and Quantitative Foundations, with an emphasis in School Psychology, from the University of Iowa. Additionally, I hold a teaching license with a reading endorsement in the State of Florida.
My expertise includes evaluation for a wide variety of conditions that affect students' school performance including various learning disabilities, ADHD, and other conditions. I also have extensive experience consulting with parents and teachers on best practices for treating academic difficulties. I believe exceptional evaluations also require specific guidance for parents and teachers about evidence-based interventions
The primary focus of my evaluations is to identify barriers to learning, which could manifest as learning disabilities in the areas of reading (Dyslexia), math, or writing, or executive dysfunction from Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I also complete evaluations related to intellectual disability or gifted identification.
I am a member of the National Association of School Psychologists and the Reading League's Florida Chapter. I have served in several supervision roles, ranging from new school psychologists and school psychology practicum students.
Outside of work, I spend my time traveling, weight-lifting, latin dancing, or playing pickleball! One fact about me is I spent over a year volunteering in the Sea Turtle and Aquatic Biology department working with the sea turtle residents at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
